Across European countries, a significant number of vocational education and training (VET) students are facing challenges related to limited basic and transversal skills. Moreover, the support systems provided to these students vary, highlighting the need to enhance their employability skills. Recognizing this issue, the SMART VET project was initiated with the aim of providing concrete pathways for VET students to effectively prepare for employment.
As of October 2022, the project has accomplished two significant outputs. The first output comprises a series of short videos, each focusing on specific learning modules such as human resource management, marketing, accounting, and more. The second output is a comprehensive handbook designed specifically for educators. It equips them with techniques to engage and communicate effectively with young people, along with mentoring and coaching strategies to facilitate the acquisition of skills by VET students.
